Precision ag depends on data—but accessing and using it isn’t always simple. Real-time data is only valuable if it’s usable. NFarms has partnered with Realm 5 in an effort to turn raw data into practical insight on the ground. NFarms partnerships bring together specialized expertise and capabilities to find solutions that can be put into use by producers.

The University of Nebraska Eastern Nebraska Research, Extension and Education Center (ENREEC) has been utilizing Realm 5 technologies for the past 3 years. There are 3 weather stations located across the facility to capture the variability of weather, such as accounting for rainfall, and lagoon level sensors in all 3 of the feedlot lagoons. ENREEC's farm and feedlot managers use this information to monitor when lagoons need to be pumped. This also provides a continuous dataset for record keeping for research.

In this NFarms partnership feature story, we take get a closer look at how the Realm 5 parternship is helping turn raw farm data into real-time decisions at ENREEC. Learn more: https://nfarms.unl.edu/partnership-update-realmfive/
