Engagement & Outreach
Extension and education are critical components of NFarms' efforts to share our experiences with stakeholders. Traditional and innovative outreach activities will be utilized to reach broad audiences well beyond Nebraska.
- On-farm research. Decades ago, the University of Nebraska pioneered the use of on-farm research to document and analyze the real-world applicability of experimental field management options. Nebraska Extension’s On-Farm Network will be a major vehicle for refining precision-ag approaches using applied data from NFarms. An example: Precision-ag data that can enable more efficient field management after pesticide application.
- Nebraska Extension. Nebraska Extension works with producers across Nebraska providing valuable research-based information and resources. Nebraska Extension will be a central conduit for informing ag producers of NFarms findings.
- Stakeholders. NFarms has strong working relationships with ag stakeholders and will draw on those connections to understand the industry’s needs and respond to them effectively. A stakeholder advisory board will facilitate that process.
- Students. NFarms will facilitate a variety of student programs and opportunities to engage in hands-on learning experiences.
